Building Hope Through Volunteerism in Beit Ummar
CFJ brought together activists and volunteers in Beit Ummar to prepare a new community center through hands-on work, dialogue, and support for local artisans.
The Center for Freedom and Justice (CFJ) proudly organized a meaningful community engagement and volunteer activity in the town of Beit Ummar, bringing together approximately 30 dedicated activists and volunteers in support of establishing a new community center that will serve as a safe and inspiring space for local residents.
The initiative welcomed around 15 community activists from Beit Ummar alongside 15 activists from the Abraham's Children Movement, reflecting a strong spirit of solidarity, cooperation, and shared commitment to community resilience and social connection.

Throughout the day, volunteers participated in a wide range of activities, including building wooden tables, cleaning and preparing the site, and supporting farmers working in the surrounding agricultural lands. The peaceful atmosphere created an opportunity for participants to engage in open dialogue, exchange experiences, and strengthen human connections rooted in dignity and mutual respect.
The event also introduced new activists to the initiative, creating space for meaningful networking and encouraging broader community participation in future activities and programs.

As part of the visit, participants met with women from the local agricultural cooperative who produce handmade goods and traditional products, including bags, olive oil, soap, jam, and other locally crafted items. These products will later be showcased and sold through a local bazaar planned at the community center, helping empower women economically and support local production.

Volunteers also met a talented local artist currently contributing to the design and decoration of the new center, transforming the space into a welcoming environment that reflects creativity, identity, and hope.

One of the most inspiring moments of the day was listening to the personal story of Shosam, who shared his motivation for taking action during this difficult period by helping create a community space that strengthens social bonds and promotes unity among people.
This volunteer day reflected the power of collective action and the importance of investing in community-driven initiatives that foster resilience, belonging, and hope for a better future.
