Ramallah – 14 July 2026
The Center for Freedom and Justice participated in the conference “Presentation and Discussion of the Advocacy and Wellbeing Strategies for Women and Youth in the West Bank and Gaza Strip,” convened by the Palestinian NGO Network (PNGO) in partnership with Oxfam and the Directorate-General for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid (DGD) in Ramallah. The event brought together a wide range of participants to strengthen the rights and resilience of youth and women.
In response to the conference, the Center for Freedom and Justice presented its vision and recommendations to local and international institutions and donors to help ensure the success of these strategies. The recommendations focused on:
- Addressing structural challenges: Calling on partners to implement the strategies while taking into account movement restrictions, geographic disparities, and the severe livelihood and psychological pressures facing the target groups.
- Real employment and decent work: Emphasizing the need to integrate youth and women into genuine, sustainable job opportunities that provide job security and a safe, fair working environment, rather than limiting their roles to volunteering and seasonal activities.
- Tackling unemployment through innovative programs: Urging donors to design innovative, direct employment programs that help reduce high unemployment rates.
- Achieving comprehensive wellbeing: Designing interventions that support human wellbeing in its psychological, social, and economic dimensions to strengthen Palestinian resilience.
The Center concluded by affirming that real investment in youth and women — and securing their livelihood and psychological safety — is the essential foundation for protecting Palestine’s social fabric and human rights landscape.
