The Center for Freedom and Justice concluded the activities of the “Vita Creative” summer camp, organized at Beit Ummar Municipal Park with sponsorship and funding from the Center for Freedom and Justice in Norway and Colorado, in partnership with the Anar Foundation, Civil Defense, and partner organizations.
Over 12 days, from 1 to 12 August, support from CFJ Norway and Colorado created an educational, cultural, and creative space for children and youth. The camp combined the reinforcement of Palestinian identity and heritage with the development of scientific, artistic, and environmental skills.
Key Camp Stations and Five Pillars
Heritage and identity: Intensive training for the folkloric dabke troupe and playing national melodies, including “Baktub Ismak Ya Baladi.”
Arts and innovation: Mask making, inlaying pottery with traditional patterns, and creating artistic canvases.
Environment and sustainability: Planting seedling and flower beds, along with an exploratory environmental field trail in the Beit Ummar area to strengthen connection to the land.
Recycling and science: Using environmental waste materials to build 3D models and sparking scientific curiosity through interactive experiments, such as the volcano experiment.
Health and sports: First aid workshops, health awareness sessions, professional acrobatic circus performances for motor coordination, and water and sports activities.
Final Exhibition and Honoring
The final day of the camp culminated in the opening of a comprehensive exhibition featuring all outcomes from the art, recycling, and agricultural workshops. This was followed by a closing ceremony attended by parents, funding organizations, and partners. During the ceremony, the camp’s troupe presented distinctive performance and musical shows. The ceremony concluded by honoring the participants and partner organizations, foremost among them the Anar Foundation and Civil Defense.
Camp management praised the pioneering role and generous funding provided by the Center for Freedom and Justice in Norway and Colorado, which directly contributed to supporting the resilience of the younger generation, developing their creativity, and instilling a sense of national and heritage belonging.
