(Have Fun and Learn) Summer Camp — A Journey of Joy, Creativity, and Growth

Under the warm summer sun of Beit Ummar, the "Have Fun and Learn" summer camp came to life as a vibrant space where 70 children, aged 8–12, gathered not just to spend their holiday, but to discover themselves, express their talents, and build lasting memories.

Held from 30 July to 13 August 2025 at Al-Arba'een Park in Beit Ummar, and sponsored by the Center for Freedom and Justice, the camp transformed everyday summer days into an inspiring journey filled with movement, color, laughter, and learning.

A Space Where Children Bloomed

From the very first day, the park became more than a location—it became a world of imagination. Children were welcomed into a safe and joyful environment where they were encouraged to explore, try, and grow.

To ensure every child could shine in their own way, participants were divided into three groups according to their talents and interests: Dabke, Arts, and Theater.

Children at the summer camp

The Dabke Group — Rhythm of Identity and Confidence

Led by trainer Lin Moqbel with the support of volunteer Lian Bahar, the Dabke group brought traditional Palestinian rhythm to life. Twenty-five children learned the foundations of this cultural dance, from posture and balance to rhythm and coordinated steps.

With every movement and hand held in unity, the children not only learned dance—they built confidence, discipline, and a deeper connection to cultural identity.

The Arts Group — Where Imagination Found Color

Under the guidance of trainer Alaa Bahar and volunteer Roz Alqam, another 25 children stepped into a world of creativity.

Arts activities at the camp

Through drawing, coloring, and handicrafts, they learned to observe the world more closely and express their thoughts without words. Their sessions became a space for imagination, patience, and problem-solving—where every brushstroke told a personal story.

The Theater Group — Voices, Emotions, and Expression

The youngest actors of the camp, 20 children, joined the Theater Group led by trainer Hamza Awad with volunteers Majd Moqbel and Lian Abragheeth.

Theater and creative expression

On stage and beyond, they explored communication, teamwork, and emotional expression. Through movement, storytelling, and role-play, they gained confidence in speaking, listening, and expressing feelings in healthy and creative ways.

Behind the Scenes — Care, Coordination, and Dedication

The success of the camp was carefully guided by Murad Al-Salibi, who managed daily operations, coordinated group placement, supervised trainers, and ensured smooth implementation of all activities.

Beyond logistics, he also prepared daily breakfasts for the children, documented the camp's joyful moments, and compiled daily reports—ensuring that every smile, step, and achievement was recorded and remembered.

A Summer to Remember

The "Have Fun and Learn" summer camp was more than an activity—it was a shared experience of growth, joy, and resilience. It offered children a safe space to express themselves, discover their abilities, and build friendships that may last far beyond the summer.

As the camp came to a close, it left behind more than memories—it left confidence, creativity, and hope in the hearts of every child who participated.
